Required Education [Back to Top]

Once you’ve obtained your conditional license, you’ll need 2 additional courses so your license will last 4 years instead of 18 months. One of these must be a Real Estate Practice course.

Salespersons renewing their license for the first time (after satisfying the 18 month conditional requirements) must complete 4 separate 3-hour DRE-approved courses in the subjects of Ethics, Agency, Trust Fund Handling, and Fair Housing.

Anthony Schools offers a program to meet this 12-hour requirement we call the "Quad." This program consists of four DRE-approved, 3-hour courses in the subjects of Agency, Ethics and Professional Conduct, Trust Fund Handling, and Fair Housing. Choose from classroom, online or home study (print) formats.

For the second license renewal, all salespersons are required to complete 45 hours of continuing education every four years to keep your license current. The 45 hours must include at least six hours covering the topics of Agency, Ethics and Professional Conduct, Trust Fund Handling, and Fair Housing. You can satisfy this requirement with Anthony Schools’ six-hour Survey course. For your remaining hours, we offer a variety of great classroom and home study courses.

The Department of Real Estate (DRE) is the government entity that regulates the real estate licensing process in California. Please refer to their website for more detailed information.
