Missouri Requirements

Salesperson Licensing
Requirements to Obtain a Salesperson License:

1. Be at least 18 years old.

2. Successful completion of the Commission-approved 48-hour Salesperson Pre-Examination Course in real estate education prior to taking the Salesperson examination.

3. Have successfully passed both the Missouri and National portions of the AMP Salesperson Real Estate Exam.

4. Successful completion of the 24-hour Missouri Real Estate Practice Course prior to submitting a licensing application.

5. Have completed, signed and submitted the Salesperson licensing application provided by the Missouri Real Estate Commission along with the required fee within six months of the completion date of the 48-hour pre-exam Salesperson licensing course.

Exceptions:

1. All education requirements are waived if you are a licensed attorney and successfully pass both the Missouri and National portions of the AMP Salesperson Real Estate Exam.

2. The 48-hour Salesperson Pre-Examination Course may be waived if you hold a current and active real estate license in another state and you successfully pass both the Missouri and National portions of the AMP Salesperson Real Estate Exam. You must still successfully complete the 24-hour Missouri Real Estate Practice Course prior to submitting a licensing application.

Broker Licensing
Educational Requirements to Obtain a Broker's License:

1. Be at least 18 years old.

2. Hold a current and active salesperson license in any state for at least 24 of the 30 months preceding the application for licensure.

3. Successful completion of a Commission-approved 48-hour Broker Pre-Examination Course.

4. Have successfully passed both the Missouri and National portions of the AMP Broker Real Estate Exam.

5. Have completed, signed and submitted the Broker licensing application provided by the Missouri Real Estate Commission along with the required fee within six months of the completion date of the 48-hour Salesperson Pre-Examination Course.

Exceptions:

1. All education requirements are waived if you are a licensed attorney. If you are not licensed as a Real Estate Salesperson, you must also successfully pass both the Missouri and National portions of the AMP Salesperson Real Estate Exam and the AMP Broker Real Estate Exam. If already licensed as a Real Estate Salesperson, you need only successfully pass both the Missouri and National portions of the AMP Broker Real Estate Exam.

2. Hold a current and active broker license in another state including 24 months of active salesperson or broker experience within the 30 months preceding the application for licensure. You must also successfully pass the Missouri portion of the AMP Broker Real Estate Exam.

Broker CE
Educational Requirements to renew a Broker's License:

The state of Missouri requires a Broker to complete 12 hours of Commission-approved continuing education by June 30th of every even year. These hours must include the state mandated core course.

Salesperson CE
Educational Requirements to renew a Salesperson’s License:

The state of Missouri requires a Salesperson to complete 12 hours of Commission-approved continuing education by September 30 th of every even year. These hours must include the state mandated core course.
